I love to fish for trout and go hiking in the mountains for them (streams, pools, small lakes). i only used spinners. i have gone with my dad and his friend (a fishing guide) fly fishing in alaska a couple times. I am stuck over getting the Frequent Flyer 864-7 Fly Rod or Clearwater II 864-4 Fly Rod from orvis. Any other good small trout rods for under 0 with a 3 or 4 wt for me?
Hi, when i was younger me and my dad did a lot of pike fishing, but now i go with mates and we like to do carp fishing but ive only got a pike rod and reel, can i still go carp fishing with it or not, if i can what things do i need to get like size wire, weights ect ect. thanks.
I’m so stupid. I went saltwater fishing on Labor Day. Well when i came home, washed is off with tap water, but it didn’t occur to me that ealier, my fishing reel completely fell in the water.
What are some ways i cam un jammed my fishing reel. It’s so jammed, i can’t even reel it in. like nothing will move.

I bought a fishing rod for my dad for Christmas, but it along with others had a disclaimer for cancer in the state of California. (I live in Canada). I was concerned if it truly does and what in the materials causes the cancer risk? I know there are a lot of things that can give cancer. Even the other day the news said something about working the graveyard shifts could give it, which is laughable. Is this just some over hyped warning or something to really look at? It even has the same warning on the fishing rubber baits it comes with.
Why does it say the materials on the label can give cancer and not the fish then?
I would like to buy a fishing rod (and reel) for my Dad’s birthday. I don’t want to order them from online.
The rod and reel have to be durable and I would like them to last a long time.

I’m looking to get my dad a good rod for fathers day cuz he’s stuck using one of those cheap wallmart ones. We go fishing up on lake Erie for Perch and Walleye and will occasionally go to a small pond and fish Blue-Gill and Small Mouth Bass. What would be a good rod for that type of fishing?
