I have 2 rods made by richardson rod & reel company. The rods are made of copper and are retractable, 1 is a fly rod and 1 is a spinning rod. Was curious about the year they were built and the if the value may be?
I love to fish for trout and go hiking in the mountains for them (streams, pools, small lakes). i only used spinners. i have gone with my dad and his friend (a fishing guide) fly fishing in alaska a couple times. I am stuck over getting the Frequent Flyer 864-7 Fly Rod or Clearwater II 864-4 Fly Rod from orvis. Any other good small trout rods for under 0 with a 3 or 4 wt for me?
I am in the market for a new fly rod. However, I have a budget of between 0 and 0. It has been 25 years since I last bought one. I am looking for 8’6" 5 weight great rod. I have been looking at the Orvis Clearwater II. Does anyone have any recommendations?

i saw a very long fly rod at dicks, and it looked like i could put a regular reel on it down at end…would it work? thanks. the reel i have in mind has a lever for your index finger to release the line instead of a button on the back.
I have a 9 foot fly rod, with a 3/4 rating on it. I once heard that you would use a 3 weight Double Taper line on it, OR a 4 weight Weight Forward line. Is this true? or does it really not matter?

I got a super lightweight spinning rod that i thought would work great as a fly rod, but i don’t know what weight fly line to put on it. On the rod it says "1/8-1/4 oz. Lures 1-4 lb. Line" if that’s any help.
