I fish from shore but i sometimes fish from a boat. I mainly fish for largemouth bass in Blue Springs, Missouri but sometimes crappie whatever wants to bite so what should i use a spinning reel or a baitcasting reel?
ok so i payed 80$ for a spinning reel, the PFlueger President and the handle screws off really easily. i lost the handle recently and im not paying 80$ for a new reel. i bought it at a local tackle store a year ago so exchange wont happen. any ideas?

It is a spinning reel.It was damaged by saltwater a while back and i am going fishing in 2 days and i would really like to fix it up.any help is greatly appreciated.thanks.
what i mean by damaged is that i have a hard time reeling,or turning the knob.
Can i use a spinning reel for carp fishing or do i need a baitrunner style reel to let the line run?
Thanks
Billy
P.s Could i not just leave the bail arm released so the fish can run?
ive fished allmost all of my life and i fish in lakes and ponds. just looking for a pole that i could use for catfish, bass or even brim or bluegill(spinning reel). and any suggestions on what line to use, thanks guys
Im looking for a fishing reel, something I can for both freshwater(peacock/small mouth bass) and saltwater canals( small snook), also around docks(snapper, jacks, etc.) in south florida. I was thinking something more light tackle. Maybe a medium to small sized spinning reel.
